Album #15: The Beach Boys - We Gotta Groove (expansion & edited tracklist)

    

     WHOS EXCITED FOR THE NEW BOX SET!? I sure am, and I am also extremely happy with how successful it has already been. There is so much more love for Brian's work than even the people's who job it is to know that knew, and I hope this might mean more in the future.

    I love the new art, tracklist, and the mix of Gotta Groove was a massive improvement over what Mark Linett usually does (I heard they have someone new now though, isn't that exciting?). While I still am not huge on most remasters due to their "modernization" of the sound through master compression which can brick-wall the sound in an effort to sound louder, it is a nice mix for what it is: a high quality, modern mix of the unreleased song which we only had low quality bootlegs of.

    Despite all the hype and discussion, it has been a little disappointing with what they released and how they chose to release it. I am very excited for what we will get, but I believe there could have been SO much more, so this post is a collection of music meant to supplement the set. I will include no tracks officially released, as to not take away from the profits, and so you support the original artist. 

    With my additions, the 73 track set expands into 126 tracks, with 53 additions. If you have the files from the set and with my link, you can assemble this. The blue tracks are what I added.
